Howdy!
I'm Blake Herrera - nice to meet you.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I graduated high school a year early, and will attend the University of Texas to study computer science this fall. I currently work for a tech company (ScanData Systems) based out of South Austin, writing parcel transportation management software for industry leaders, including the #1 Retailer in the US and the #1 Meal Kit Delivery Service.
Throughout my K-12 education, I accomplished a lot. I managed to win every class/student council presidential election from fourth grade all the way up until my early graduation, I was the two-time president of RRISD Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores' Student Advisory Board, I won the State DECA competition in professional selling my freshman year as a first year member, I published four of my own apps to the Apple App Store, I set both the seventh and eighth grade shot put records at Walsh Middle School, I was nationally ranked in junior high as an offensive and defensive lineman, I got to play in a nationwide All-American Bowl sponsored by Eastbay that aired live on ESPN, I worked for an online radio sports broadcasting company as a broadcast producer, color commentator, and voice actor, and in addition, I was inducted into NHS, National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and I was named a National Hispanic Scholar.
I've done a lot - and when you do a lot, you learn a lot. And it is through that learning that you can begin achieving.
Life is good. Hook 'em Horns, and God bless Texas!
